Commitment to Reconciliation

Commitment to Reconciliation
Grounded in cultural safety and genuine inclusion
We work closely with Raising Literacy Australia’s Aboriginal Leadership Group to centre the voices, knowledge and authority of expert individuals with lived experience.
We respectfully acknowledge the Kaurna people as the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, recognising their continuing connection to lands, waters and culture. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and acknowledge the strength, resilience and enduring contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia.

Stories that are seen, heard and celebrated
We are dedicated to long-term reciprocal relationships that prioritise listening, trust and transparency. As part of our ongoing effort toward reconciliation, we are actively working to publish picture books by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authors and illustrators, ensuring their voices are seen, heard and celebrated.
Submissions are open for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creators interested in working on picture books for children aged 0–5.
Please email us with the subject line ‘Expression of Interest’ and include a brief personal introduction (50–100 words), a summary of your creative experience and a copy of your manuscript and / or samples of your work.
