Katrina Germein

Katrina began writing books by accident when a story in her head wouldn’t go away. She wrote it down to set it free. This story went on to become Katrina’s first picture book Big Rain Coming. Her stories have won notable book commendations from the CBCA and Big Rain Coming has been published around the world, remaining in print over a decade after its release.

Phil Cummings

Phil is an award-winning author who developed a love of children’s literature when working as a teacher. It was during this time that Phil decided to write a children’s book. He soon discovered that it wasn’t easy, and after seven years of rejection, Phil’s first book Goodness Gracious!, illustrated by Craig Smith, was published by Omnibus/Penguin in 1989. Since then, Phil has written over sixty books for children. His most recent titles include Echidna Jim Went For A Swim, Be Brave Pink Piglet, Anzac Biscuits, Ride, Ricardo, Ride!, Bridie’s Boots, and Boy.

Tania Cox

Tania was born in Australia in 1968, in a small northern Queensland town called Ayr. In late 1997 her first picture book manuscript was accepted for publication by Working Title Press. It was called Baby. Working Title Press also decided to publish Little Bat. Andrew McLean, a very talented Australian artist agreed to illustrate it. Little Bat was first published in late 1999 followed closely by Baby in early 2000. And that’s how it all began. In March 2000, Tania took part in the residential fellowship awarded by the May Gibbs Children’s Literature Trust in Adelaide, where she visited schools to help encourage the love of reading and books. In 2004 her book Snap! Went Chester, illustrated by David Miller, was short-listed for the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book Awards. In 2013, her book With Nan illustrated by Karen Blair and published by Windy Hollow Books was short-listed and named Honour Book for the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book Awards. In 2011, I worked with The Little Big Book club to produce It's Bedtime by Phil Cummings, Katrina Germein , Susan Betts and Tania Cox. Illustrated by Katharine Lahn. This book was included in the Baby book packs to South Australian children.
